Update from the secretary Bill Cullen re Social Run

August 5th, 2020

Good afternoon all

I hope you are all well and staying safe.

The section committee held a meeting on the 28th July to discuss the present situation with the VMCC & COVID-19 restrictions relating to holding group section runs.

After a considerable discussion in which the present COVID-19 rules & regulations being applied under the  guidance of VMCC & CoMorg were dissected, we reached a decision the section runs could commence however under the COVID-19 protocol.

I am extremely happy to advise that the committee Chairman & Treasurer Dave Iszard & John Beckensale along with Committee member Paul Fletcher will be leading 3 runs from different start venues all of which will end up at the Museum of Power. This will take place on Sunday the 23rd August.

These runs will adhere to the strict COVID-19 protocol ruling which is a total 6 riders per group i.e 5 riders plus run leader.

Run 1: Leader Dave Iszard. Start venue: Tesco car park, Maldon.9.30am for 10am start.

Run 2: Leader John Beckinsale. Start venue: Writtle Green car park, Writtle, 9.30 for 10am Start.

Run 3: Leader Paul Fletcher: Start venue: New Sainsbury’s Superstore, South Woodham Ferrers. 9.30 for 10am start.

IMPORTANT:

NOTE TO JOIN ONE OF THESE RUNS YOU MUST REGISTER BY SENDING ME AN EMAIL & SUPPLYING YOUR CURRENT MEMBERSHIP NUMBER  ALONG WITH  WHICH VENUE YOU WISH TO START FROM. IT WILL BE  ON A FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. I WILL ADVISE YOU BY RETURN EMAIL IF YOU HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL OR NOT. ALONG WITH THE RUN LEADERS CONTACT NUMBER.THE COMPLETED LIST FOR EACH RUN WILL THEN BE PASSED TO RUN LEADERS.

On arrival at the MOP I will advise where to park. The Museum of Power will be open along with the tea room & facilities  however we will have to sit outside and observe social distancing rules. You may wish to bring your own lunch etc.

If you are unable to join one of the runs you could consider a run to the MOP anyway, please let me know so I am able to liaise with the MOP.

Please let these runs be a success and perhaps if you had booked to arrange a run this year and would like to carry out a run during what’s left of the riding season I would be pleased to help in any way I could.

Be safe

Regards

Bill
