Updates for May from Secretary Bill Cullen

A big thank you to Lesley for a Super Bluebell Weekend, great turn out of bikes and great runs. Given this was the first Bluebell event Lesley had organized I am sure you will join me in congratulating her on turning out a superb event.

Sunday 5th May.
Mark Wilson will be leading this run which starts from the Granary Car Park next to the Barge Inn Battlesbridge(SS11 7RE). 9.45 for 10am start. The run ( around 25 miles ) is to Foulness Island, on arrival at around 11.30 am you will be ask to sign a form (Name@ Reg no) at the gate to gain entry to the island. Mark advises you will be( for £5) able to join a tour of the island on passenger trailer), sandwiches plus drinks are available at extra cost on the Island. please note not all of the car park on Foulness has hard standing suggest you take something to put under your stand. leave the island 1pm prompt. Then onto the Shorehouse pub for lunch etc. Arrival @ Shorehouse Pub 1.15pm. See attached menu for lunch @ Shorehouse Pub. Mark & a friend will be leading this run.

Wednesday 8th May
Club night there will be a Talk by Peter Bickers on the legendary iconic Mosquito Aircraft. Starts at 8pm
Wednesday 15th May
This evening run will be lead by John Ruth & Steve Back, starts from Hammonds Road off A12, 6pm for a 6.30 Start. The run will be a end over end run of approx. 45 miles ending at the three Elms pub, Chignal Smealy, for full detail John on 01245 281799.
Sunday
May 19th the Essex section will have a stand at Stow Maries Great War Aerodrome Wings & Wheels. We have 22 members taking part this year.

Wednesday 22nd May
This evening run will be lead by Lesley starting from the Manor Farm Shop, Gt Baddow, CM2 7DQ down the road from the park and ride 6pm for 6.30 start, end over end run of about 25 miles end up at The Alma pub, Copford .For details ring Lesley on 07971 266167

Sunday 26th May
Alan & Stan are putting together both a run and a gathering to celebrate the sections 50th Anniversary. Full details to follow when known.

Wednesday 29th May
Dave Iszard will be leading this run from Tesco car park Maldon 10am for 10.30 start. Coffee stop at Bungalow Diner, Marks Tey, Lunch at the Crown, Acton near Sudbury, Suffolk. Stop for Tiffen on the way back. Approximately 70 mile round trip. for full details Dave on 01621 892206

As you can see May 2019 is a full month for the section, appropriately as this year is the 50th anniversary to the month.
